Believe it or not, we are already at the point in the year in which people start to abandon their resolutions and goals. Abandonment this early only happens because we get derailed with distractions. We start the day off with the best intentions but life interferes and the unexpected happens. Before you know it we are off our plan and waiting until the next year to start all over again. Consistency and discipline are paramount in order to the succeed with any goal.
Consistency is sustained action over time.
Nothing is gained by doing it sporadically.
You won’t see the fruits of any labor that is done every once in a while. You can never get a six pack of abs by doing sit-ups once a week. Your vision won’t manifest itself out of thin air. You gotta keep at that thang! *insert Texas twang here*
Consistency requires planning.
That means we have to purposely set time at the beginning of the day or week to stay focus on goals. Remember to keep your vision and goals visibly on display. Take a look at it frequently and write out the goals needed to be accomplished to obtain it. Look at your agenda or calendar for the week and make adjustments so that you can still stay on track with your goals. No many how many times you get off the plan, you have to stay the course and stay committed to your goals. Build momentum one step at a time and track your goals to help you stay motivated.
Pray to God for focus.
Lord thank you for the vision and goals you have planted in our hearts. We know that with you all things are possible. I pray that you order our steps and lead us to the doors and opportunities meant for us. And swiftly remove the distractions that keep us from moving forward. Amen!
1 Corinthians 9:27 The Message (MSG) 26-27 I don’t know about you, but I’m running hard for the finish line. I’m giving it everything I’ve got. No sloppy living for me! I’m staying alert and in top condition. I’m not going to get caught napping, telling everyone else all about it and then missing out myself.
There are several things I am committing myself to be disciplined and consistent with this year. Some big goals, some little ones, but I want to see some results so I am sticking with it.
Consistent skin care routine – My skin needs some serious TLC. I still go to bed in my makeup and that’s a big no no.
Consistent Bible Study- whenever a new series is started I’ll go strong for like 3 weeks and then fall off. Gotta keep going.
Consistent with BGA – I am committed to posting twice a week to this blog to keep both me and you encouraged and motivated throughout 2018
Consistent healthy eating habits – The weekend is where I mess up. Also, I have a bad habit of wanting sweets 24 hours a day.
What are some things you are working on being consistent and disciplined with this year? Please share with me so I can keep you in my thoughts and prayers, and help to hold you accountable.
