Over the past year or so I have been seeing a lot of blogs and social media posts about how to manifest your dreams. It’s a huge buzzword and tons of people are capitalizing off it. Especially in telling others how to manifest and attract money and become “successful”. But in all honesty, what does all that mean, how do you attract money and success?
The definition of “to manifest” is to visualize, make it obvious, or make it real using the law of attraction. The law of attraction is a new age philosophy that believes that your thoughts translate into energy and that energy manifests itself into action that you receive from the universe. So essentially what you focus your thoughts and energy on will happen, positively or negatively. If you put out positive vibes then positive vibes will come to you. Conversely, if you put out negative energies then you will attract those as well. According to the law of attraction, once you have an understanding of how your thoughts manifest themselves into energy, then you can practice being intentional in creating a life that you want. You can choose to deliberately participate in the creation of your future by managing your thoughts and feelings.
I strongly believe in the power of redirecting your thoughts from negative and self-deprecating ones to affirming and self-loving ones. It’s an intentional and practiced methodology. This site is dedicated to the power of affirmations and how affirming yourself daily can be extremely instrumental to your mental and emotional health. Our post How To Use Affirmations demonstrates how we can use affirmations to keep a positive mindset. The Bible has several verses that admonish us to be mindful of our thoughts and how they have the power to change circumstances. Although the law of attraction is supposed to be universal for all religions and beliefs, I am not going to say that I practice the law of attraction for the sole reason being that I believe all things come from God and to say that I attracted certain elements in my life good or bad, takes away the sovereignty and the glory of God.
With that in mind, I created my own iteration of how to manifest your dreams.
- Have a vision and pray over it – Be very specific about what you are asking and praying for. God wants to grant us the desires of our hearts. Especially if they are in alignment with His glory and His will. Pray that He will bring you into contact with the right people, pray for perfect timing, and pray for direction and wisdom.
- Believe it and expect it – Mark 11:24 “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” You can be assured that if God placed something on your heart then He will see it through. Believe wholeheartedly that your vision will come to fruition. This will make a huge impact on how dedicated and disciplined you are at seeing your plans through.
- Speak victory over your life – Keep yourself uplifted through prayer, mediation, and affirmations as you pursue your dreams. Keep seeing the possibility and the goodness over your life even when things get tough. Affirm yourself of your strength and God’s power.
- Act – My God is an excellent waymaker and performs miracles every minute of the day. However, sitting in the house like a bump on a log ain’t gon help your vision come to fruition. The Bible says faith without works is dead. Set your goals and make a plan to see it all through. Be active in your journey with God’s direction and guidance.
With these four steps, I am confident that we can achieve all of our dreams.
Do you practice the law of attraction? If so, how do you use it?
I’ve been so distracted as of lately, I have to get back to my manifestation list. This definitely set me back on track.
Great tips! I definitely believe that the law of attraction is real.
I’m guilty of not doing these things. I write my vision and I work towards it but my actions stop there. I will add these tips into my life and see how things transform. Thanks for sharing.
Glad I could help!
